Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-04

1. Purpose These Terms govern your use of Cookhae, including recipe extraction from public video URLs, saved-recipe storage, meal planner, shopping checklist, AI variant generation, missing-ingredient substitution, external YouTube discovery, and community features (reviews/reactions). They also define the rights and responsibilities of users and Cookhae. 2. Service Cookhae analyzes the title, description, captions and other public metadata of cooking video URLs you submit, and produces a structured recipe. You can save recipes to your library, build a meal plan and shopping checklist, request AI variants (diet, low-salt, vegan, etc.), get ingredient substitutes, see external YouTube candidates when nothing matches, and post reviews. 3. Account & Eligibility (a) The service requires sign-in with a Google account. Future versions may add Apple or other providers. If you change device, sign out, or clear app data, you can recover your data by signing in again with the same Google account. (b) Cookhae is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to use the service (19 or older for residents of the Republic of Korea, in line with Korean Civil Act § 4). Minors are not permitted to register; if we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we will, after reasonable verification, delete the account and associated data. (c) You are responsible for safeguarding your sign-in credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. 4. AI Output Disclaimer Recipes, ingredient lists, cook times, quantities, substitutes, and recommendation reasons are AI-generated and provided for reference only. They may be wrong. You are solely responsible for verifying anything related to allergies, pregnancy, medical conditions, infant nutrition, medication interactions, or food safety before cooking or consuming. 5. Source Videos & Copyright Source video copyright belongs to the original creator or platform. Cookhae analyzes publicly identifiable information from URLs that users submit, in order to produce a text recipe. Recipes generated from public URLs may be stored in our global recipe cache for deduplication, search, recommendation and quality, and may be shown to other users with a link back to the original. Some processing may be performed via third-party data processors. Rights holders can request takedown at team.cookhae@gmail.com. 6. Coins, Rewarded Ads, Paid Features Some AI features (variants, substitution) and recipe extraction may require coins or watching a rewarded ad. Cookhae currently provides coins through rewarded ads, sign-up bonuses, and operator grants. Paid coin purchases are not currently available. If paid purchases are introduced later, Cookhae will provide separate notice and follow the applicable app store policies and law. Coins are a digital entitlement to use in-service features and cannot be exchanged for cash. 7. User Content & License (a) You must not post or submit content that is illegal, hateful, sexual, violent, infringes another's privacy or copyright, is spam, or is fraudulent. We may hide, remove, request edits, or restrict accounts that violate this rule. (b) For all content you post to the service (reviews, ratings, notes, images, report bodies, etc.), you grant Cookhae a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, transferable license to use, display, recommend, improve, and promote that content as part of operating the service. You warrant that you have the rights to post such content. (c) You may delete your content at any time and it will be deactivated within a reasonable period. We may retain de-identified copies for backups, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. 8. Service Warranty Disclaimer The service is provided "AS IS." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cookhae disclaims all express and implied warranties, including but not limited to non-interruption, error-free operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant the accuracy of AI output, nutritional or allergen information, the availability of external videos, the appropriateness of recommendations, or the immediate grant of ad rewards. 9. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cookhae is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, loss of data, lost profits, or lost opportunity. Our total cumulative liability shall not exceed the lesser of (i) the amount you paid Cookhae in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (ii) USD 100. 10. Refunds (a) Coins are a digital entitlement and cannot be exchanged for cash. (b) Charges for AI variants, substitution, new extractions, or any feature where the AI result was delivered immediately are not refundable for buyer's remorse. If AI generation fails, your coin is refunded automatically. (c) If paid coin purchases are introduced later, payment cancellations and refunds will follow the applicable app store policy and consumer-protection law. 11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, except that mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence may apply where they are more protective. The parties shall first attempt good-faith negotiation. For users residing in Korea, the Seoul Central District Court shall be the court of first instance with exclusive jurisdiction. For users residing in the United States, Section 12 (US Mandatory Arbitration) applies. 12. United States — Mandatory Arbitration & Class-Action Waiver For users residing in the United States, any dispute between you and Cookhae shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), seated in California. YOU AND COOKHAE WAIVE THE RIGHT TO TRIAL BY JURY AND TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION, CLASS ARBITRATION, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. You may opt out of this Section by sending written notice to team.cookhae@gmail.com within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms; in that case disputes shall be resolved in California state or federal courts. 13. DMCA Notice & Counter-Notice We follow the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). Rights holders may send a notice to team.cookhae@gmail.com including: (a) signature of the rights holder or authorized agent, (b) identification of the copyrighted work, (c) location (URL) of the infringing material, (d) contact information, (e) a good-faith statement that use is unauthorized, and (f) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate. Posters of removed content may submit a counter-notice via the same channel; we may restore content within 10–14 business days unless the rights holder files suit. Repeat infringers' accounts may be terminated. 14.
